Steven’s Wings: Global Youth Adventures was founded in December 2023 in loving memory of Steven Wilkes—a dedicated Philadelphia nurse and Navy veteran who believed deeply in the power of service, education, and global exploration. This foundation is a living tribute to his legacy.
We empower underserved youth, ages 14 to 25, by providing life-changing international travel experiences that expand worldviews, cultivate cultural understanding, and inspire future leaders. While we began in Philadelphia, our mission knows no borders.
In 2025, we pivoted from a traditional board to a more sustainable, founder-led model. Today, our Ambassador Circle, affectionately known as The Flight Crew, helps lift the mission by sharing stories, spreading awareness, and keeping the dream alive—without the bureaucracy.

🕊 Honoring the Legacy of Steven Wilkes
Steven Wilkes—a Philadelphia nurse and Desert Storm veteran—dedicated his life to helping others. He inspired everyone around him to serve with heart and live with purpose. He also happened to be Erica Wright’s older brother.
Though he didn’t get to see the world the way he dreamed, this organization ensures others can.
Steven’s Wings is his legacy in flight.
